I LOVE SINGAPORE!
Saw that? No?
I LOVE SINGAPORE!Every morning, on the way to work, I will feel super patriotic. Why?
Because I hate the crowd at the metro.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Chinese, especially if you are living in Shanghai,
There are signs all over the many metro stations, calling for passengers to be orderly. 先下后上,左行右立。And yet you chose to ignore the simple pleas for order.
I hereby concluded that there can only be three reasons why you push and shove:
1. You are blind, hence you are unable to read the instructions. You are probably deaf too, since you do not heed the officer's whistle too.
2. You are illiterate. Do I need to say more?
3. I over-estimated your command of Chinese. You have no idea what is 上下左右, hence you squeeze, push and shove.
Old or young, man or woman, short or tall, your life motto is to make people fall. What is courtesy, it doesn't even appear in your dictionary!
If Shanghai wishes to be cosmopolitan (not saying she is wishing right now), globalised and be a world class city where everyone everywhere else wishes to migrate to, something needs to be changed.
I admit that Singapore is not the best, BUT (a very big but here), at least we do have conscience and kindness to make a potential gracious city. Shanghai… I have yet to see it.
Self-centred, selfish and rude, you push and shove little kids, the elderly, the handicapped and woman (the last applies only to men). Do you think that 3 seconds of waiting for them to pass really make a difference?
Plus, what is wrong with waiting patiently for passengers to alight first before boarding? Just because YOU don't do it doesn't mean the world outside is like you. I like being gracious, so stop commenting and bitching.
So dear Chinese in Shanghai, if you feel that you are commented upon, then you jolly well
LEARN SOME MANNERS. If you feel that I am not talking about you because you don't squeeze/push/shove, I am still talking about you, because you didn't influence your peers to do it like you.
Oh, I forgot. None of you are probably reading this, since you're either blind, illiterate or don't understand the language.

At times like this,
I miss Singapore the most.
I miss Singapore when the people squeeze till I nearly puke and have no space for breathing.
I miss Singapore when I feel molested with so many guys pressing against my royal body.
I miss Singapore when I was shouted in my ear.
I miss Singapore when I was nearly pushed down and yet nobody help.
I miss Singapore so much I wish I am home there and then.
End of grumbling.
And I really love Singapore.Labels: China, GIP, travel
